Annual Quality Report

A Quality Report (previously Quality Account) is an annual report made available to the public about the quality of services delivered by providers of NHS services in England.

Quality consists of three areas which are key to the delivery of high quality services:

  • patient safety
  • clinical effectiveness (how well the care provided works)
  • patient experience (how patients experience the care they receive)

The Quality Report focuses on quality improvement by reviewing the previous year’s performance, identifying areas for improvement and outlining how those improvements will be made and monitored over the next year.
