This information here is for people who are currently waiting for a routine (non-urgent) appointment or procedure under CHEC’s Gastroenterology services. We have some advice on what you can do to help prepare for your appointment or procedure.

Whilst you wait for your appointment, it may be helpful to make a list of:

  • Your symptoms and any changes
  • Any medicines you are currently taking, including prescriptions, self-bought medicines, or alternative treatments
  • Any known allergies you have
  • Any questions or concerns
  • Your symptoms and how you manage your health and condition
  • Your past medical history
  • Whether you need any tests Treatment plan options

Together, a plan will be developed for your ongoing care. You may be offered another appointment, or you may be asked to return when your symptoms or circumstances chance. If you are unsure of anything throughout your assessment, ask the clinician to explain it again and provide you with an outcome letter.
