Our response to the challenge of COVID-19

As one of the UK’s leading providers in community ophthalmology, we maintain high clinical standards throughout our hospitals. We are focused on delivering excellent eyecare to local people, like you. Your welfare and that of our employees remains our highest priority and our surgical centres remain ‘Covid-Green’, which means that you can have confidence that we have taken all the necessary measures to keep you safe.

In our hospitals we have taken the following measures:

  • Covid-19 screening of all patients before attending appointments
  • On arrival temperature testing and hand sanitising is required
  • Patients are required to wear surgical masks during appointments
  • To enable social distancing, we have reduced the number of seats in our waiting areas and may have one-way systems in place
  • We ask you to attend our hospitals on your own unless you need someone to assist you
  • Our staff will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
  • If possible, we may conduct virtual consultations to reduce the number of visits to our hospitals
  • In all our hospital sites we have enhanced cleaning regimes to help reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19
